Camarena Tequila New Packaging

Camarena Tequila has rolled out new packaging that reflects the history of the brand.

In 1761, the Camarena Family co-founded the town of Arandas, now the “epicenter of artisinal highland tequila production,” the company says. In its heart sits Mexico’s largest bell, which inspired the new packaging both the shape of its bottle and the embossing on its glass.

Camarena Tequila Silver has flavors of roasted agave with a hint of green herbs and citrus overtones that round out with a touch of vanilla, the company says. Its barrel-aged Reposado tastes of agave sweetness and toasted oak, which gives way to deep vanilla and caramel notes.

Camarena Tequila is available nationwide. The Silver retails for $21.99 per 750-ml. bottle.

  1. Camarena changed what’s INSIDE the bottle as well. Now, it doesn’t mix as well as the old Camarena in a Margarita, leaving a stronger aftertaste. I am now looking for a substitute, darn it. I really liked the old Camarena.

  2. Yes i thought I had gotten bad limes but now I think it’s the tequila that changed 🙁 this was my go to. I am so upset

  3. I agree. I noticed the different (bad) taste in the Reposado with the first drink.

Two things come to mind: “Don’t tamper with perfection” and “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”.

Time to start sampling other brands.

  4. We also noticed a bad after taste with the new bottle! This was the only type we used for Margaritas and now we will have to try to find something else. Why the change????
