Gruppo Campari Buys Jamaican Rum Maker

Italian drinks company Campari on Sept. 3 said it would buy a controlling stake in Jamaican rum maker Lascelles de Mercado & Co. for $414.7 million. Lascelles includes the Appleton Estate, Appleton
Special/White, Wray & Nephew and Coruba brands. The deal is Campari’s third-largest following its acquisitions of Wild Turkey in 2009 and Skyy Spirits in 2002.
