The Beverage Dynamics National Retailer Wine Panel recommends a lineup of top quality/value zinfandels.
For this issue, we asked members of the Panel to recommend some of their favorite zinfandels. As always, these selections include brief tasting notes, a rating and the wine’s retail price (which varies from store to store and market to market).

- Absolut Hibiskus
Absolut Hibiskus is the latest flavor in Pernod Ricard’s Absolut vodka family. Featuring a blend of hibiscus and pomegranate, Hibiskus is slightly acidic, with a berry flavor underlined by notes of pomegranate, according to the company. The vodka has a suggested retail price of $21 for a 750-ml. bottle. - Angel’s Envy Rye Whiskey
Angel’s Envy Rye Whiskey, a super-premium whiskey made using 95% rye and 5% malted barley. The whiskey is aged for six years in American new charred oak barrels and finished in Caribbean rum casks for up to 18 months. The 100-proof whiskey is available for a suggested retail price of $79.99 for a 750-ml. bottle.

- Proximo to Take Over Distribution of Jose Cuervo
Jose Cuervo, which is currently distributed in the U.S. and Canada by Diageo, will move to Proximo Spirits as of July 1. Proximo is a privately held company based in New Jersey, which also imports 1800 Tequila and other brands.

- Chivas & Pininfarina at Maserati of Manhattan
On Tuesday, February 26, Chivas 18 and Pininfarina enthusiasts gathered at The Maserati dealership in Manhattan for the unveiling of the new limited edition Chivas 18 bottle “The Drop”. Approximately 100 guests admired the display of Chivas 18 Pininfarina bottle editions alongside Pininfarina-designed cars as they enjoyed signature cocktails created for the event. - Porton & Mario Testino
