Sun Chase Pinot Noir

Guarachi Family Wines has announced the inaugural release of their single vineyard Sun Chase Pinot Noir 2013.

Guarachi Family Wines Sun Chase Pinot Noir 2013 is a blend of clones 777 and 828. The grapes were night harvested by hand and aged 11 months in 100% French oak, 55% new. The resulting wine exhibits a floral nose and fruit, with rich red berries that are complemented by tannins and acidity.

Over a dozen other high-end wineries source fruit from Sun Chase, which lies on the southwestern slopes of Sonoma Mountain at an elevation around 1,400 feet. The vineyard sits on loam soils and was planted with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in 2007. Sun Chase is one of the highest elevation vineyards in the Petaluma Gap, where most of the Pinot Noir blocks reside above the morning fog line, allowing for ample sunlight. Balanced fruit and minerality are hallmarks of Pinot Noir from Sun Chase.
