Gordon Biersch Zwickel Pils

Gordon Biersch Brewing Co announced the availability of Zwickel Pils, the latest in the company’s series of limited-release “Uberbier” bottlings.

Zwickel Pils is a bottom fermented pilsner brewed using the Hallertau and Tettnang hops, plus Pilsner malt used to brew the company’s Czech-style pilsner.

The tradition of Zwickel beers is to tap directly from the tank to take home the freshest beer from the brewery in its most pristine, unfiltered condition. Since it’s bottled without going through the extensive filtration processes common to other beers, it enters the bottle fresh and continues to age in the bottle.

Like all Gordon Biersch products, Zwickelpils is brewed in adherence to the “Reinheitsgebot,” the German purity law of 1516 which stipulates the use of only four ingredients: water, malt, hops and yeast.

Zwickel Pils is available beginning in April wherever Gordon Biersch products are sold. 750ml swingtop bottles retail for $5.99.
