Chateau d’Esclans Rock Angel Rosé

With the rosé market heating up, one of the category’s brands is getting a makeover. Provence’s Chateau d’Esclans is rebranding its namesake, estate-bottled rosé as Rock Angel, beginning with the 2014 vintage, which rolls out in June.

The renaming of d’Esclans estate rosé links it more closely with its well-known sister brand, Whispering Angel ($22), one of the rosé market’s fastest-rising players, according to the company.

Along with the name change, the new Rock Angel ($35) saw a packaging redesign created in partnership with London-based firm Design Bridge. In addition to Rock Angel and Whispering Angel, the d’Esclans portfolio includes two cuvées, Les Clans ($65) and Garrus ($100).
