Distiller — a free digital whiskey companion, recommendation and discovery engine — today announced its partnership with craft spirits merchant Ezra’s. This makes Distiller the first app to offer expansive whiskey reviews, ratings, recommendations and shipment, the company says.
Through this partnership, Distiller-users who live in states which allow purchase of spirits by mail will be able to order whiskey from within the app.
The new “buy-button” functionality will also make searching for more unique, hard-to-find whiskeys even simpler, the company says. Instead of trying to hunt down a particular bottle at a distant liquor store or specialty website, users can request specific whiskeys and Distiller will work with Ezra’s to track them down.
“We have found that our users are especially passionate about finding new and interesting whiskeys to try, and with this partnership we’re now taking a big step towards being involved in that journey every step of the way, ” said Mikael Mossberg, co-founder and CEO of Distiller.
The Distiller app was developed for the novice, adventurous and discerning whiskey lovers to explore their personal tastes and learn more about the craft, history, culture and world of whiskey, while connecting with other of like-minded enthusiasts, the company says.
It is the only app to offer personalized whiskey recommendations based on flavor preference, expertise level, drinking environment, price and other criteria, the company says. Users can create and share digital collections, and find out what other people around the world are tasting, drinking and thinking.
