7 Recipes for National Margarita Day

This February 22 is indeed a happy Monday—it’s National Margarita Day. Here are seven recipes that your mixology-minded customers or staff can enjoy:

Rosa Picante Margarita
(Shown above)
2 oz. Patrón Silver tequila
¾ oz. Fresh lime juice
½ oz. Simple syrup
½ oz. Ginger syrup
½ barspoon Jalapeño oil or a fresh jalapeño slice

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake with ice to chill. Strain into a chilled cocktail coupe that has been half-rimmed with rose sea salt, and top with a dash of rose water. Garnish with a rose petal.

Kale MargKale Margarita
1 ½ oz. Tequila
¾ oz. Agave nectar
¾ oz. Lime juice
½ oz. Kale juice

Combine ingredients and shake with ice. Pour into tall glass and garnish with lime.

La Puebla Margarita
1 ½ oz. Tequila Don Julio Reposado
1 oz. Fresh grapefruit juice
¼ oz. Fresh lime juice
¾ oz. Raspberry agave syrup*
Vanilla-infused Maldon Sea salt**
Top with soda water
Grapefruit peel for garnish

Combine tequila, grapefruit juice, lime juice and raspberry agave syrup into a cocktail shaker with ice and shake well. Strain contents into a rocks glass over ice and top with soda water. Garnish with a pinch of vanilla-infused Maldon sea salt and a grapefruit peel.

*For Raspberry Agave Syrup
Combine 16 oz. filtered water, 16 oz. agave and 16 oz. fresh organic raspberries in a pot and heat on low until desired flavor is reached (about 30 minutes). Strain through a fine strainer and allow to cool.

**For Vanilla-infused Maldon Sea Salt
Mix 2 vanilla beans with 8 ½ oz. Maldon Sea Salt in an airtight container and let sit in a cool dry place for a minimum of three days.

Resting GardenThe Resting Garden Margarita
1 ¾ oz. Patrón Reposado tequila
½ oz. Patrón Citrónge Mango
1 oz. Fresh lemon juice
¾ oz. Agave syrup
6 Sage leaves (2 for garnish)
Pinch salt

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake with ice to chill. Double strain with a fine mesh strainer into an ice-filled Old Fashioned glass. Garnish with two sage leaves and a grilled mango slice.

Perfect Pear MargaritaPerfect Pear Margarita (Serves 8)
2 cups Sauza Signature Blue Silver tequila
1 cup simple syrup
½ cup Lime juice
½ cup Lemon juice
2 Peeled pears for garnish
8 Rosemary sprigs for garnish

Add ingredients to a pitcher and stir. Pour over ice into Margarita glasses. Garnish each with a pear slice and rosemary sprig.

Spicy Cucumber Jalapeño Margarita
1 ½ parts Casamigos Blanco tequila
¾ parts Fresh lime juice
⅓ part Orange liqueur
⅓ part Simple syrup
3 Cucumber wheels
1 Jalapeño slice

Muddle cucumber, jalapeño, lime juice, and simple syrup. Combine all ingredients to iced mixing glass. Shake vigorously for 10 count. Fine strain all contents into a rocks glass with or without salted rim. Garnish with cucumber and jalapeño slice.

Clementine MargaritaClementine Margarita
2 oz. Maestro Dobel Diamante tequila
1 ½ oz. Clementine juice
½ oz. Lemon and lime juice

Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice. Salt the rim of a tall cocktail glass. Strain intro the glass filled with fresh ice. Garnish with lime wedge.
