Summit Brewing Dark Infusión

Summit Brewing Company has announced the release of the brewery’s first-ever coffee beer, Dark Infusión: A Coffee Milk Stout.

Dark Infusión will be available in draught and in 4-packs of 16-oz. cans starting the last week of October. This is the twenty-third beer released in the brewery’s limited edition Unchained Series.

Summit Brewer Pete Stacy worked with Saint Paul’s Blackeye Roasting Co to create a custom blend of Brazilian and Colombian varieties, the company says. “The best part of brewing this beer was learning about the coffee industry first-hand: sourcing and importing beans from all over the world, analyzing for quality, and then blending coffee varieties to perfectly fit the profile of my sweet milk stout,” says Stacy.

Dark Infusión is 8.5% ABV and 40 IBU. The beer is jet black in color and contains the malts Stout Malt, Brown Malt, Perla Negra, Midnight Wheat, Torrified Wheat and Flaked Oats. The hops are Pilgrim and Fuggle, with Witbread Ale for yeast. Dark Infusión is infused with cold brew coffee at packaging.

This beer is best served in a Spiegelau Stout Glass. Pair it with brunch foods: pancakes, sausage, fried chicken and waffles. Enjoy as a dessert beer or with fruit pies, bread pudding and crisps.
