Louisville-based Copper & Kings American Brandy Co. is launching a limited-release 7-year-old muscat brandy: Blue Sky Mining.
Matured for 30 months in a Kentucky hogshead barrel, the non-chill filtered spirit is untouched by post-distillation infusion of boisé (oak flavor or infusion) or caramel coloring. Approximately 600 bottles (375-ml. each) will be produced and sold at the distillery and by request in a selection of bars and liquor stores across the country.
Copper & Kings Blue Sky Mining Pure Muscat Brandy is 100 proof and retails for $40 per 375-ml. bottle. Aromas include tropical notes of melon and hibiscus, with hints of roses. The taste is muscat fresh grape juice, with a touch of ripe, bruised peach, the company says.
The original label art is painted by local Louisville artist AngryBlue.
Copper & Kings is available in 28 markets including: Arkansas, California, Delaware, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin and Washington D.C.
