Santa Julia of Mendoza, Argentina, has unveiled its latest lineup.
The Santa Julia Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 comes from vineyards in Maipu, Santa Rosa and Uco Valley, Mendoza. It’s 100% cabernet sauvignon, and 13.5% ABV. About 30% of the wine rested in French oak for four months. The wine has aromas of black cherries, prunes, gooseberries, blackberries and spices, the company reports, with full-bodied flavors, rich, with fine tannins.
The Santa Julia Malbec 2016 comes from vineyards in Maipu, Santa Rosa and Uco Valley. It’s 100% malbec, and 13.5% ABV. About 30% of the wine rested in French oak for four months. The wine has aromas of ripe fruits like figs, plums, blackberries and marmalade, the company says, with sweet tannins and a full-bodied flavor.
Fruit for the Santa Julia Pinot Grigio 2016 derives from Santa Rosa and Maipu vineyards. It’s 100% pinot grigio, and 13% ABV. The wine has aromas of ripe pears, apple, melon and some tropical fruits, the company says, with balanced acidity on the palate.
Vineyards from Mendoza produced the grapes for the Santa Julia Torrontés 2016. It’s 100% torrontés, and 13% ABV. The wine has aromas of rose, orange peel, white peaches, fruit salad, chamomile and other aromatic herbs, the company reports, with light fresh flavors of rose grapefruit, and ripe fruits like peach and pears.
The suggested retail price for all four wines is $10 per 750-ml. bottle.
Santa Julia is a sustainable winery, and is imported into the U.S. by Wine Sellers LTD. Santa Julia won a Comeback Growth Brand Awards in 2017 for its recent resurgence in sales.
