Berkshire Mountain Distillers has unveiled their latest bourbon expression: Smoke And Peat.
This bourbon ages in Virginia American white oak barrels before transfer to ex-Islay Scotch casks for finishing.
On the nose is smoke and peat, the company reports, along with spice, vanilla, chocolate and oak. On the palate are more of these classic bourbon notes, plus the smoke and peat, and a tad of iodine.

The suggested retail price is $60 per 750-ml. bottle.
Berkshire Mountain Distillers opened in 2007 in Sheffield, Mass. Its brand lineup includes Greylock Gin, Ethereal Gin, Ragged Mountain Rum, Ice Glen Vodka, Berkshire Bourbon and New England Corn Whiskey.
