Swedish Distillery To Triple Capacity with Eye Towards Global Sales

The Swedish spirits producer Box Distillery, makers of the fast-selling Box Whisky single malt line, has announced a “multi-million investment” in its facilities.

This will reportedly triple production and increase the tourism aspect of the business. “Our annual production capacity of just over 100,000 litres LPA (litres of pure alcohol) is not enough to meet consumer interest,” says company CEO Thomas Larsson.

The investment will include two new copper stills, four new washbacks and some minor alterations in the still room, the company says. Staff will increase and a large new warehouse will also go up to complement other investments and “enhance the area’s attractiveness.”

Box Distillery launched its first single malt in 2014 to much acclaim.
