Vision Wine & Spirits to Distribute South African Winery Glen Carlou

Vision Wine & Spirits, a division of Martignetti Companies, has signed an agreement with South African Winery Glen Carlou to act as its exclusive U.S. importer.

Glen Carlou is located in the foothills of the Simonsberg Mountains in the Paarl region in the Western Cape. The winery was founded in 1985 by South African winemaker Walter Finlayson. The winery later came under control of Donald Hess in 2003, and by its current ownership, The Pactolus Consortium, in 2016.

Glen Carlou has some of the oldest Chardonnay vines in South Africa, the company says. Its U.S. portfolio includes flagship wine Classic Chardonnay (750-ml SRP: $17) and Quartz Stone Chardonnay ($30). The portfolio also contains a Bordeaux blend “Grand Classique” ($20), “Gravel Quarry” Cabernet Sauvignon ($45) and Glen Carlou’s Classic Cabernet Sauvignon ($17).

“It was important to align with a company who shares our core values and aspirations for this important and historical market,” says Glen Carlou Managing Director Johan Erasmus. “In Vision Wine & Spirits we believe we have a Partner who can build on our existing footprint on a sustainable basis.”

Vision Wine & Spirits is an importer of fine wines and spirits from around the globe.
