Bulleit Distilling Co. Receives Okay to Build Visitors Center

Bulleit Distilling Co. — the new massive Diageo facility in Kentucky that’s behind the expanding Bulleit bourbon brand — has received government approval to build an onsite visitors center.

The Kentucky Tourism Development Finance Authority gave their approval this week.

“Bulleit Distilling Co. and Diageo Americas are pleased to have received approval of an incentive package from the Kentucky Tourism Development Finance Authority that will allow us to take the next step toward building a visitor center at the Bulleit Distilling Co. in Shelbyville,” says Barry Becton, Senior Director Federal Affairs and Whiskey at Diageo North America.

“We thank the Kentucky Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet for their assistance through the process,” Becton adds. “We also thank the people and leadership of Shelby County, especially County Judge-Executive Dan Ison and State Sen. Paul Hornback, for their continued support of the distillery as we look to build a Visitor Center that we expect will bring thousands of visitors to the community each year.”

We interviewed brand founder Tom Bulleit last year about his thoughts on the new facility.
