Little Book ‘Noe Simple Task’ Blended Whiskey

Freddie Noe, eighth generation Beam distiller and son of current master distiller Fred Noe, has released the second chapter in his Little Book whiskey series, called “Noe Simple Task.”

This follows last year’s inaugural Little Book release, “The Easy.” Inspired during a trip to Alberta, Canada, Noe noticed the differences in the Canadian whisky distilling process, and the delicate flavors aged Canadian whiskies can achieve. He wanted to incorporate some of these whiskies into his latest release, the company says, while staying true to Kentucky style.

The result is a blend featuring three uncut and unfiltered whiskeys:

  • 8-year old Kentucky straight rye whisky
  • 40-year-old whisky made from 100% corn
  • 13-year-old rye whisky

As the name implies, creating this blend was “Noe Simple Task” for Freddie, who created nearly 40 different blends before deciding that #29 was the one, the company says. Bottled uncut at its natural proof of 118.8, “Noe Simple Task” features floral and fruity notes that balance out the spice from the rye whiskies, the company says, with a finish that is long, lingering and spicy with notes of caramel.

“Noe Simple Task” is now available nationwide in limited quantities with a suggested retail price of $99.99 per 750-ml. bottle.
