Bumbu Rum Company has announced Bumbu XO, a rum aged up to 18 years in bourbon barrels and finished in white oak sherry barrels from Andalusia, Spain.
Bumbu XO is distilled and aged at an 120-year old Panamanian distillery and uses only local sugarcane and pure spring water. An 80-proof rum, it has aromas of toffee, toasted oak and vanilla, the company says, giving way to orange zest, peppery spice and a hint of coffee on the palate.
Bumbu XO is currently rolling out to bars, nightclubs and retailers. The suggested retail price is $39.99 to $44.99 per 750-ml. bottle.
Bumbu Rum Co. is owned by Sovereign Brands’ Brett and Brian Berish, creators of Luc Belaire sparkling wines and McQueen and the Violet Fog, a new Brazilian gin. Their portfolio also includes Original Bumbu.
