Walsh Whiskey has announced Writers’ Tears Copper Pot – Deau XO Cognac Cask Finish, a premium edition of their Writers’ Tears Copper Pot Irish whiskey.
This is the fourth expression released under the Writers’ Tears range. It’s a blend of aged single malt and pot still whiskeys finished for nine months in French oak casks, which were seasoned for 10-to-15 years with Deau XO Cognac.
Writers’ Tears Copper Pot – Deau XO Cognac Cask Finish is 46% ABV, triple distilled and non-peated. The suggested retail price is $59.99 per 750-ml. bottle.
On the nose is notes of poached pear and summer berries, the company says, plus hints of fresh grapes and citrus zest. The palate include a creamy mouthfeel with with rich chocolate undertones, before a finish of floral and fruit aromas.
