Greek spirits-maker The House of Metaxa has announced a new product: Metaxa 12 Stars.
Metaxa is a Greek amber spirit made of Muscat wines, aged wine distillates and Mediterranean botanicals.
Metaxa 12 Stars is a new premium offering in the U.S. from The House of Metaxa, which is part of Rémy Cointreau. Liquid in Metaxa 12 Stars was created in 2011. It will be available at retailers nationwide beginning next week, for a suggested price of $40 per 750-ml. bottle.
The spirit has hints of orange peel, chocolate, coffee and toasted oak, the company reports.
Metaxa is commonly compared with Cognac and brandy.
