Charles & Charles, Bieler Père et Fils ‘Sabine’ 2018 Rosés

Trinchero Family Estates has unveiled two new 2018 vintage rosés.

The 2018 Charles & Charles Rosé is from the Columbia Valley, Washington. With a lifted tone and cut and a touch paler color than last year’s, there’s still the balance between savory (lavender and rose petal), citrus, Bing cherry, wild raspberry notes and bright acidity at the finish, the company says. As has been the case for years, the rosé vineyards here are 100% dedicated to rosé; there’s no overlap with the red wine programs. The blend is syrah 71%, cabernet sauvignon 17%, mourvedre 5%, grenache 4%, counoise 2% and cinsault 1%.

The suggested retail price of the 2018 Charles & Charles Rosé is $13 per 750-ml. bottle.

The 2018 Bieler Père et Fils ‘Sabine’ Rosé is from Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence. This vintage has more cinsault and rolle coming on line this year, the company says, and more focus on building palate depth. One element to its balance and natural acidity is the relatively high elevation and late-ripening vineyards around Aix-en-Provence. The blend is grenache 48%, syrah 19%, cinsault 15%, cabernet sauvignon 12% and rolle 6%.

The suggested retail price of the 2018 Bieler Père et Fils ‘Sabine’ Rosé is $13 per 750-ml. bottle.
