Created for warm-weather grilling season, this low-tannin wine is a blend of merlot, cabernet sauvignon and corvina grapes from Verona, Italy.
The wine is soft and velvety on the palate, the company reports, with notes of cherry jam, red currants, raspberries and dark plums on the nose and palate. Light oak is also present from spending four months in barrels.
Tussock Jumper’s 2017 Sweet Cat red blend may be enjoyed slightly chilled, ideal for picnic and grilling season.
Pair this wine with sweet barbecue ribs, bacon-wrapped shrimp, salads, soft cheeses and chocolate desserts or ice cream.
As with all of their wines, Tussock Jumper has embedded their “Bring your wine to life” feature on the label. Download the free app, point it at the label and the cat will jump off to share tasting notes and pairing tips.
The suggested retail price is $11.99 per 750-ml. bottle.
