Cavit White Wines Move to Screwcap Closure

Italian wine brand Cavit announced that it’s transitioning its still white wines to screwcap closures.

The range of whites includes riesling, oak zero chardonnay, moscato and pinot grigio.

Why the change? The company says that the decision to move to a different closure was based on “conclusive research” that confirmed consumers’ preference for Cavit wines with a more convenient screwcap.

Cavit’s packaging will remain otherwise unchanged.

Importer Palm Bay International is now rolling out the Cavit whites with the screwcap closure nationwide. The suggested retail price, which hasn’t changed, is $9.99 per 750-ml. bottle and $14.99 for a 1.5 liter bottle.

  1. Cavit has now officially dropped down into the ‘cheap’ catagory. I used to always buy Cavit as my house wine – it is now going to be replaced unfortunatey. Noone ‘Chooses” or ‘Prefers” screwcaps – Thats corporate’s way of saving money at the expense of their product and overall Brand. They just dropped into Cheap.

  2. I love your cavity Pinot Grigio wine and would like to offer some information on the screw top cap please. The cap is easier to remove than the cork, however after removing the bottle from my wine wrack I have found that on three occasions the cap has loosened and the wine is slowly trickling out. I think the mere picking up of the bottle can loosen the cap. I hope that you will consider improving the quality of the cap or returning to the cork method. Thank you for your time.
