90+ Cellars, Magic Door New California Wines

Latitude Beverage has expanded its portfolio of California wines this summer with three new releases. These include two new bottles from their trendy 90+ Cellars portfolio, plus an entry from Magic Door, Latitude’s boutique wine brand.

These wines are:

Lot 179 Pinot Noir 2018. Hints of blueberries and raspberries backed by notes of flowers and spice, the company reports. Pair this wine with grilled salmon and red peppers, or sautéed chicken with rosemary and thyme. The suggested retail price is $11.99 per 750-ml. bottle.

90+ Cellars Lot 173 St. Helena, Napa Valley, California 2017. The grapes are harvested, destemmed and sorted before a cool maceration designed to extract maximum color and flavor, the company says. Fermentation occurs under controlled temperatures resulting in a wine that retains varietal character and balanced tannins. After a gentle pressing, the wine is racked in to a mix of new, one- and two-year-old French and American oak barrels for 12-18 months of maturation. Deep crimson in color with aromas of black currant, mocha and savory herbs, with trailing notes of tobacco and vanilla. Full-bodied and well-rounded with soft edges and a lively dose of bright cherry fruit that unfolds into a smooth finish. The SRP is $26.99 per 750-ml. bottle.

Magic Door Cabernet Sauvignon, Rutherford, Napa Valley 2017. The grapes were sorted and de-stemmed at the winery before a traditional fermentation with daily pump overs. After fermentation, the wine was separated from the skins and moved to barrel where the secondary malolactic fermentation occurred. Once complete, the wine was racked and placed in barrel for another 12 to 18 months.  In the glass you will find aromas of dark cherry and cassis mixed with subtle layers of chocolate and cigar smoke, the company reports. The wine’s texture is full-bodied, smooth and toned, with a long finish of savory dark fruit and cedar. The SRP is $26.99 per 750-ml. bottle.

  1. Sure Its FB but it feels so light. Well done. I tatse a blend of red and dark fruits. Candied. Toasted and oaky vanilla finish. This wine is exceptional as i have tried 100s of PN for all regions. Well done. I love it. Its not too dry. Not too sweet. Its mouthwatering, juicy, aromatic and flavorful. Its a wine worth talking about. Thank you. Asking my store owner to put all bottles to the side for me. I never drink more than 2 glasses. Magic Door brought out the youth in me and its so darn good.
