Glen Moray 21-Year-Old Port-finished Single Malt

Glen Moray has announced a new addition to its age statement range, the Heritage range: Glen Moray 21YO, a port-finished single malt.

This spirit was distilled and initially filled into first-fill ex-bourbon casks for 19 years. Two years ago, Glen Moray’s Master Distiller, Graham Coull, decided to continue the maturation process in seasoned Tawny Port casks.

The port casks are sourced from Porto Cruz, and seasoned on the hillside in the Douro Valley, now a UNESCO World Heritage site in the northeast of Portugal.

On the nose, Glen Moray 21YO has berry fruits merged with creamy vanilla and rich caramel, with hints of freshly baked gingerbread, the company reports, before a palate of blackcurrant and licorice, with chewy caramel toffee and chili-infused chocolate. The finish includes dark chocolate and caramelized raisins.

Glen Moray 21YO is 46.3% ABV and non-chill filtered. Presented in box with a wooden sliding drawer, the suggested retail price is $180 per 750-ml. bottle.
