Bardstown Bourbon Releases Whiskey Collab with The Prisoner Wine Co.

The Bardstown Bourbon Company has partnered with The Prisoner Wine Company for a collaborative bourbon finished in The Prisoner red wine barrels.

Launching in January 2020, this new expression a 100-proof, nine-year-old Tennessee bourbon aged for 18 months in the same French Oak red wine barrels used to age the wine company’s flagship product, The Prisoner.

“This spirit is very complex, with a welcoming bouquet of blackberry and black cherry, blended with honey and vanilla,” says Steve Nally, Master Distiller at The Bardstown Bourbon Company. “The luxury wine blend’s red fruit flavors take the lead on the palate.”

Bardstown Bourbon Company & The Prisoner Wine Collaboration is the latest addition to the Bardstown Bourbon Company’s Collaborative Series, a line of finished bourbons, which saw new products finished in brandy and Muscat Mistelle barrels in 2019. The company also recently announced expansions of its Fusion and Discovery bourbon series.

“The last collaborative expressions we released were very limited, so we’re excited to kick off the new year with a big release available in multiple markets across the country,” says Bardstown Bourbon Company Vice President of Sales & Marketing Herb Heneman.
