HB Wine Merchants Summer 2020 Wines

HB Wine Merchants has unveiled a slate of new wines available for summer 2020. These include:

Urban Riesling 2019 3-L. Bag in a Box.

Urban Riesling 2019 3-L. Bag in a Box. Grapes sourced and winemaking directed by Nik Weis of Weingut St. Urbans-Hof in Germany’s Mosel Valley. The wine has a smoky and floral nose, the company reports, before a juicy, fruity mouthfeel with minerality that finishes off-dry and crisp. 100% recyclable box. Suggested Retail Price: $35.99 per box.

Sunday Mountain Sauvignon Blanc 2019. The grapes come from Marlborough for this wine made in collaboration with winemaker Louis Vavasour, whose family once owned Dashwood. Taste profile includes the obligatory “gooseberry” nose, the company says, though with more of a citrus and grapefruit finish for a softer texture. SRP: $14.99 per 750-ml. bottle.

Peter Zemmer Pinot Grigio 2019. Since the establishment of this family business in 1928, the winery Peter Zemmer has been producing wines on the vineyards in and around Cortina s.s.d.v. in Alto Adige – South Tyrol. On the nose, notes of flowers blend with tones of green apple and spices, the company reports. On the palate, the wine shows melon- and pear-driven fruit notes in a full-bodied style, while maintaining the fresh acidity commonly associated with the Alto Adige. SRP: $16.99 per 750-ml. bottle.

Peter Zemmer Chardonnay 2019. Greenish-yellow in color, the bouquet has notes of banana and melon, the company says. The palate is dry, fresh and lively with a fullness that will complement seafood pasta or simple tasty chicken dishes. SRP: $16.99 per 750-ml. bottle.
