Tröegs Independent Brewing has announced the release of its newest year-round beer, Grand Cacao Chocolate Stout.

This joins the brewery’s lineup of year-round beers, including Perpetual IPA, Troegenator, Sunshine Pilsner, Haze Charmer and DreamWeaver Wheat. The new brew also taps into the premiumization trend of craft drinkers looking for higher-ABV options in dark beers.

Grand Cacao Chocolate Stout is built on a foundation of chocolate malt, caramel malt and roasted barley, the company reports. Cold-steeping on Peruvian cacao nibs and natural vanilla doubles down on the chocolate, while a splash of milk sugar gives a velvety sweet and creamy quality to the finish.

“You’ve had stouts with chocolate notes,” says Tröegs Brewing Manager, Tim Mayhew. “The way these ingredients come together, this tastes more like chocolate with stout notes.”

Grand Cacao Chocolate Stout is 6.5% ABV, and available now in 12-oz. bottles and in 1/2 kegs and 1/6 kegs wherever Tröegs is sold.
