After a three-year hiatus, Michter’s US*1 Toasted Barrel Finish Bourbon is back.

First introduced in the fall of 2014, Michter’s US*1 Toasted Barrel Finish Bourbon is made by aging Michter’s US*1 Kentucky Straight Bourbon for an additional period in a second custom made barrel.

This second barrel is assembled from 18-month, air-dried wood and then toasted but not charred.

“We first launched our groundbreaking US*1 Toasted Barrel Bourbon in 2014, and we followed up with releases in 2015 and 2018,” says Michter’s President Joseph J. Magliocco. “While we continue to experience whiskey shortages at Michter’s, we decided to use some of our bourbon stocks for this toasted offering so our loyal Michter’s supporters could enjoy it.”

Michter’s US*1 Toasted Barrel Finish Bourbon is 91.4 proof. Flavors include campfire and cinnamon, the company reports, with pecan and candied fruit. The finish has baked pears, vanilla and marshmallow.

The suggested retail price for a 750-ml. bottle is $100.

This marks the first release of the whiskey since August 2018.
