As the low-alc/no-alc trend continues, Barefoot Wine has announced the launch of Bright & Breezy, a line of lower-calorie wines.
This includes three releases: Bright & Breezy Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay and Rosé.
These new wines are fruit-forward, with expressive aromas, a light-bodied mid-palate and a clean finish, the company says.
Winemaker Jen Wall worked with her team to create these new wines with 70 calories, 6% ABV and two grams of sugar per serving. The pinot grigio and rosé contain 42% fewer calories than their standard Barefoot bottles, while the chardonnay slimmed down 50%.
Wall suggests pairing these wines with summer fruits, salads and grilled chicken for summer BBQs.
“At Barefoot, we are passionate about creating a wide variety of products so that we have pleasing wines for each of our unique consumers,” says Wall. “Barefoot Bright and Breezy is a great example of us widening our offerings, as these additions are delicious, light-bodied, and lower-calorie. Similar to our other varietals, Barefoot Bright and Breezy wines are crafted to be fruit forward, food friendly wines that consumers can enjoy at home or together with family and friends.”
Bright & Breezy Pinot Grigio combines the aromas of ripe pears and apples, the company reports. Bright & Breezy Chardonnay brings forward a citrusy pineapple, while Bright & Breezy Rosé offers ripe, sweet cherries.
Barefoot Bright & Breezy wines are now available in 750-ml. bottles for a suggested retail price of $6.99, at retailers nationwide or online at barefootwine.com.
