Sonoma-Cutrer has announced the release of 2019 Grand Brut Rosé, part of its annual Winemaker’s Release.

The 2019 Grand Brut Rosé is a cuveé of pinot noir and chardonnay fruit from two of the Russian River Valley winery’s vineyards: Owsley Estate and Vine Hill Ranch.

“We are excited to introduce the Grand Brut Rosé, a unique addition to our Winemaker’s Release program,” says Pinot Noir Winemaker Zidanelia Arcidiacono. “It was amazing to create this perfect blend of pinot noir and chardonnay that has beautiful, bright fruit flavors and a perfect level of acidity.”

The 2019 Grand Brut Rosé is light pink in color, with aromas of hibiscus flower, red-sour cherry and a touch of watermelon, the company reports, which are complemented with brioche bread and mandarin citrus notes. On the palate are notes of mandarin, kumquat, citrus fruit, a touch of wet stone minerality and light cherry flavors that are balanced with acidity.

Pair this sparkler with goat cheese, fruit tarts or fresh oysters with salmon caviar.

The Winemaker’s Release is a series of wines that showcases Sonoma-Cutrer’s “commitment to artisan craftsmanship and showcases their unique, high-quality production practices,” the company says.
