The third and final release in the Muckety-Muck single grain Scotch whisky line from Orphan Barrel Whisky Co. is Muckety-Muck 26 Year Old.

Hailing from the Port Dundas Distillery, this blend follows the previously released Muckety-Muck 24 and 25 Year Old bottles.

Set beside the canal on a hill overlooking the city of Glasgow, Port Dundas was a local landmark established in 1810. Although Port Dundas closed its doors in 2010, there are select remaining stocks. Orphan Barrel, owned by Diageo, releases these kinds of rare and extra-age statement expressions.

Port Dundas was also home to a piggery with hundreds of pigs, the company says. “One prized pig in particular, Muckety-Muck, won over passersby with his decorated wall of medals in the breeding shed, inspiring the name of this limited edition release.”

The three hogs on the Muckety-Muck 26 Year Old bottle label celebrate this prize pig, as well as the trilogy of whiskies in his honor, the company says.

Six variants of the bottle label are available, with the three pigs wearing a Scottish tartan sash in either red, green, blue, gray, orange or yellow.

The aroma of Muckety-Muck 26 Year Old starts with caramel, fudge and baked sugar, the company reports, backed by hints of fresh fruit and berries. On the palate, butterscotch vanilla combines with notes of toasted oak and a light fruity taste to carry through the finish.

This limited-edition bottle is available at retailers nationwide for a suggested retail price of $299.99 per 750-ml. bottle.
