The GlenDronach Distillery has announced the eleventh release of its Cask Strength Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky.

With sherry wood maturation, this expression continues the legacy set out by distillery founder James Allardice in 1826, which marries Highland spirit to Spanish oak. This eleventh batch of The GlenDronach Cask Strength aged in Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks.

On the nose is mulled cranberry, orange and clove liqueur, the distillery reports, plus dark honeyed treacle upon a base of nutty oak. Flavors on the palate include bramble wine and treacle toffee, with chocolate raisin, cinnamon maple and sultana. The finish brings lingering Seville orange peel and nutmeg, with caramel and maraschino cherry.

“Add a drop or two of water to this latest expression to reveal a cornucopia of flavor, from richly spiced bramble wine and treacle toffee, to lingering Seville orange peel and nutmeg layered with caramel and maraschino cherry,” adds Master Blender Dr. Rachel Barrie

As with all expressions of The GlenDronach, the natural color is drawn from maturation in Spanish oak casks.
