The James B. Beam Distilling Company (JBBDCo.) and Freddie Noe, Eighth Generation Master Distiller of the Fred B. Noe Distillery, have announced the latest installment in Noe’s annually released blended whiskey series — Little Book Chapter 8: “Path Not Taken.”

This newest expression is meant to “explore the future of American rye by blending a unique range of rye whiskies together and show you that rye still has plenty of stories left to tell,” the distillery says in a press release. “Path Not Taken” aims to “create a complex, redefined and differentiated profile” by blending ryes of different age, char and mash bill.

Accordingly, this Little Book release contains:

  • 18yr Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey (High Rye)
  • 11yr Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey
  • 7yr Kentucky Straight Rye Malt Whiskey
  • 5yr Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey (KY Family-Style, Char 4)
  • 5yr Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey (PA Family-Style, Char 1)
  • 5yr Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey (PA Family-Style, Char 4)
  • 4yr Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey

This is Freddie’s first effort to blend an expression based on the influence and flavors of rye whiskey and the nuances of the rye grain, as well as its mashbill influence within high-rye bourbon, the company says.

Little Book “Path Not Taken” comes bottled at 118.2 proof.

The suggested retail price is $149.99 per 750-ml. bottle.

Little Book’s name references the nickname given to Noe by his legendary grandfather, American whiskey pioneer Booker Noe.
