High West and Casa Noble Tequila have collaborated to release The Noble Share rye whiskey.
This limited expression finished 4- to 10-year-old rye whiskey in Marques de Casa Noble añejo tequila barrels for six months. A portion of the blend also finished in Amburana barrels at a char of 3 or medium toast treatments for a small period.
The use of the Marques Añejo barrels imparts a subtle agave and lemongrass note with a hint of vanilla at the end, the companies report. This is then complemented by the botanical character and spice from the base rye layers of the spirit blend, while the use of the Amburana barrels are meant to enhance the blend’s complexity with a note of cinnamon.
The whiskey blend contains MGP rye (95% rye, 5% malted barley) and High West Distillery rye (80% rye, 20% malted rye).
Bottled at 104 proof, The Noble Share rolls out nationwide in limited quantities for the suggested retail price of $174.99 per 750-ml. bottle.
The Noble Share marks the first-ever collaboration between High West and Casa Noble.
“High West is honored to blend its rich whiskey traditions with Casa Noble’s storied heritage,” says Tara Lindley, director of sensory and new product development at High West Distillery. “While the Casa Noble Marques Añejo barrels are at the heart of this expression, a portion of the blend has also been finished in Amburana barrels — adding layers of complexity and introducing a delicate hint of cinnamon that beautifully complement the bold, spice-forward character of High West rye. Together, these barrels create a richly textured, harmonious expression that celebrates the artistry of blending.”
High West this year also released its first Bottled in Bond whiskey.
