Diageo’s older-aged whiskey brand Orphan Barrel has added a new liquid into its collection: Fanged Pursuit Kentucky Straight Bourbon Aged 17 Years.

This introduction marks the first North American non-chill filtered Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey rolled out through Orphan Barrel.

The Fanged Pursuit label artwork shows a lone Kentucky bobcat in its native Bluegrass State’s forests.

The spirit aged in charred American Oak barrels for 17 years.

“Fanged Pursuit is a standout for those who savor the artistry and depth of American bourbon-making,” says Fanged Pursuit lead blender Delicia James. “The bobcat proudly symbolizes not only the spirit of the bourbon itself, but also the continuous evolution of the Orphan Barrel collection, highlighting the distinct character of each release and the unique story behind every bottle.”

Made from a mashbill of 68-74% corn, 18-22% rye and 8-10% malted barley, Fanged Pursuit has aromas of vanilla, red cherries and honey, the distillery reports. On the palate are notes of toasted oak, orchard fruits and spices. Just as a bobcat is rare to spot in the wild, often seen only in glimpses during the dawn or dusk hours, Fanged Pursuit offers a fleeting presence as it’s only to be made once and never again.

This limited-edition bottle is available at select spirits retailers nationwide with a suggested retail price of $200 for 750-ml., and became available for purchase exclusively in the U.S. on March 1, 2025. Fanged Pursuit can also be purchased on ReserveBar, where shipping and delivery options are available.

This follows the launch of Orphan Barrel: Woven Honor Single Malt Scotch Whisky Aged 18 Years.
