With tequila and spirits-based RTDs among the fastest growing segments in the alcohol category, particularly with Gen Z drinkers, Mark Anthony Brands (makers of White Claw and Mike’s Hard) has introduced a new canned tequila soda, Rey Azul.
Rey Azul or “Blue King” is a canned tequila soda made with tequila using blue agave grown in Jalisco, Mexico, and produced in partnership with a second-generation, family-owned agave farm and distillery, the company says.
The brand currently offers four flavors, each blended with sea salt: Mango, Lime, Pineapple and Grapefruit.
All flavors are additive-free and gluten-free, 100 calories and 5% ABV.
The brand is currently available at retailers in 12 states, with plans for availability in 27 more states later this fall.
