Growth Brands Awards

The Growth Brands Awards have recognized successful beverage alcohol brands since 1997. Growth Brands are divided into four categories (Fast Track, Rising Star, Established Growth Brands and Comeback Brands) for wine and spirits, while beer brands are awarded based upon a survey of off-premise retailers and on-premise operators. The wine and spirit winners are announced each year in the April issue of Beverage Dynamics, while beer winners are announced in the September/October issue.

The 2021 Wine & Spirit winners will be featured in the April issue of Beverage Dynamics. Beer winners will be announced in the Sep/Oct issue. We will begin collecting data for the 2022 Wine & Spirit awards in December.

[If a new brand launched in 2019 or 2020, it will qualify as a Rising Star with 10,000 cases sold in 2020. This is a one-time exception in recognition of the special circumstances surrounding sales during the pandemic].

Fast Track: Must have exceeded 100,000 9-liter cases in 2020, with double-digit growth in each of the past three years. The brand must also be at least five years old.
[If a brand showed double-digit growth in its off-premise sales in each of the past 3 years, it will also qualify as a Fast Track winner. This is a one-time exception in recognition of the special circumstances surrounding sales during the pandemic].

Established Growth Brands: Must be a top seller, moving a minimum of 400,000 9-liter cases annually. It must also have grown in each of the past three years.
[If a previous winner in this category exceeded its 2019 sales off-premise, it will also qualify as an Established Growth winner. This is a one-time exception in recognition of the special circumstances surrounding sales during the pandemic].

Comeback Brands: Previous award winners that have rebounded in sales to at least the previous award-winning level, following a recent decline.
