Jose Cuervo Announces First Añejo Tequila

Jose Cuervo has unveiled a new premium-level tequila, and its first añejo: Tradicional Añejo.

Tradicional Añejo is made with the original Cuervo family recipe from 1795. It matured for more than 12 months in new American oak barrels, and then finished for up to four months in Irish single malt whiskey barrels.

Tradicional Añejo contains 100% Blue Weber agave.

Tasting notes include cooked agave, toasted nuts and vanilla, the company reports, as well as secondary notes of stewed figs, cinnamon baking spice and caramel.

This tequila is 40% ABV. The suggested retail price for Jose Cuervo Tradicional Añejo is $32.99 per 750-ml. bottle.
