The Black Death Vodka brand returns to on- and off-premise accounts across the United States this month as it ramps up in New York and New Jersey and starts with distribution on the West Coast.
Launched globally in 1987, by 1995 Black Death Vodka was selling more than 120 million bottles and cans in over 60 countries, the company says. It then fell out of fashion in the latter ’90s.
“Now is the right time for Black Death to return,” says Bob Miller, CCO for Black Death Drinks. “On our first rodeo in the 1990’s people really were not as mentally liberated as they are now. Today, almost everybody has a personal opinion they are not afraid to air and tattoos and skulls are mainstream, whereas in the 1990’s they were symbols of rebellion and angst.”
Black Death Vodka will be initially available in the New York metropolitan and New Jersey markets with a suggested retail price of $19.99 per 750-ml bottle.
