Casa Dragones Tequila has debuted Casa Dragones Barrel Blend, its first añejo tequila.
Casa Dragones Barrel Blend matured in two different barrels: new French Oak and new American Oak. At the end of the aging process, both barrel styles were blended together to create richness and an agave-forward taste profile, the company says.
Barrel Blend is the third expression to be released by Casa Dragones in ten years. All Casa Dragones tequilas are made with lowland agaves and spring water from the headwaters of the Volcano of Tequila, the company says, and employ a modern, sustainable production process.
Presented in smoked-gray glass perfumer-style bottles, the añejo tequila is designed to be sipped neat in a whiskey snifter or tulip glass, and can be enjoyed on the rocks or in cocktails such as an updated Old Fashioned. Casa Dragones Barrel Blend has a suggested retail price of $150 per 750-ml. bottle.
