Rampur Indian Single Malt Whisky has announced the launch of Rampur Asava.
For this expression, Rampur blended a combination of used bourbon barrels and Indian Cabernet Sauvignon barrels.
The result is a nose heavy with golden apricot, plums and spice, the company reports, followed by a palate beginning with a honeyed sweetness before a pleasant dryness imparted by the Indian Cabernet Sauvignon.
The suggested retail price is $89.99 per 750-ml. bottle.
This follows the release of Rampur Double Cask Indian Single Malt Whisky.
The company’s current portfolio also includes Rampur Select Single Malt Whisky and Rampur PX Sherry. The Rampur distillery, located at the foothills of the Himalayas, was established in 1943 and has been distilling whisky for the past 26 years.
