Gonzalez Byass USA has announced the introduction of 2020 Loess Gruner Veltliner from Domäne Wachau.

This is the first wine in a one-liter/1000-ml. bottle size format from Domäne Wachau to be released in the U.S. market.

Domäne Wachau, led by Winery Director Roman Horvath MW and Oenologist & Cellar Master Heinz Frischengruber, is an Austrian winery. Small vineyard plots along the Danube riverbed and valley floor provide sourcing for the Loess Gruner Veltliner 1L. Loess (pronounced ‘low-ess’ in English) refers to the soil found in these vineyards, which reflect wines that are slightly fresher and fruitier compared to wines from the gneiss soils (pronounced ‘nice’ in English), found in the steeper Wachau Valley vineyard slopes, the company repors.

All grapes are hand-picked, vegan and Sustainable Austria certified.

A one-liter wine bottle holds 1 1/3 standard bottles, or 7 glasses of wine.

The Loess Gruner Veltliner 2020 is 100% gruner veltliner, and 12.5% ABV. Distributed nationally by Gonzalez Byass USA, the suggested retail price is $14 per 750-ml. bottle.
