Four Roses Releases Minis of Small Batch Bourbons

Four Roses Minis Small Batch Bourbons bourbon select nip nips

Four Roses has extended its lineup of retail offerings with the launch of 50-ml. bottles of two bourbons in the distillery’s premium lineup: Small Batch and Small Batch Select.

These “minis” are available now. They feature the same bourbon sold in the 750-ml. bottles.

“The launch of Four Roses minis will give those who are unfamiliar with our Small Batch bourbons an easy way to give them a try, and to sample them side-by-side to taste how the use of our 10 bourbon recipes in different combinations can create distinctly different products,” says Four Roses Master Distiller Brent Elliott. “The convenience and size of these minis also make them perfect for crafting cocktails, cooking or giving the perfect gift.”

When making bourbon, the distillery combines two mashbills with five proprietary yeast strains to produce 10 distinct bourbon recipes — each with its own characteristics. Four of those recipes, aged a minimum of six to seven years, make up the 90-proof Small Batch.

Small Batch has aromas of mellow spice, rich fruit and hints of sweet oak and caramel, the company reports. On the palate are flavors of red berries and rich dried spice leading.

Non-chill filtered and bottled at a 104 proof, Small Batch Select launched in 2019 as the distillery’s first permanent product-line extension in more than a decade. The bottling contains six bourbon recipes selected by Elliott, aged a minimum of six to seven years.

Aromas of raspberries, clove and nutmeg make way for flavors of apricot, berries vanilla and light oak, the company reports. The finish features spearmint and a light touch of cinnamon.

The 50-ml. offerings are available wherever Small Batch and Small Batch Select are sold.
