The first release of Elijah Craig Barrel Proof in the new year is ready for retail shelves.
Batch A122 — the “A” in the yearly A, C, B batch series, released in the first month (1) of 2022 (22) — is 120.8 proof.
This is 12 years old, non-chill filtered.
On the nose is vanilla, light oak, orchard fruit, caramel candy, honey and hay. The palate is big, with an oily mouthfeel. Flavors include toffee, vanilla frosting, birthday cake and earthiness. On the finish the tannins come in nicely to tie everything into a rich, oily bow.
The suggested retail price is $55.99 per 750-ml. bottle.
This follows the recent release of Larceny Barrel Proof C921.
