Maison Ferrand has introduced Ferrand Dry Curaçao Yuzu Late Harvest, a limited-edition release from Alexandre Gabriel, owner of Maison Ferrand and Ferrand Cognac Master Blender, in consultation with spirits and cocktail historian David Wondrich.

Made from the entire Yuzu and blended with brandy and Ferrand Cognac, this take on the classic French orange Curaçao follows Gabriel and Wondrich’s Ferrand Dry Curaçao.

The yuzu is sourced from L’Agrumiste, an orchard in the Mediterranean specializing in more than 250 fruit varieties, and harvested in the fall via a hand-picking process. The yuzu used for Ferrand Dry Curaçao Yuzu Late Harvest is left on the trees after they’ve reached their peak ripeness and harvested late in the season, past their peak maturity. This late harvest technique concentrates the aromas of the yuzu, the company says, allowing Ferrand to capture pastry notes which marry well with the Ferrand Cognac base.

Available nationwide, Ferrand Dry Curaçao Yuzu Late Harvest is bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof) with a suggested retail price of $35.99 per 700-ml. bottle.
