The third release in 2023 of Booker’s Bourbon is Booker’s Batch 2023-03 “Mighty Fine Batch.”
Each release in this annual whiskey line has a unique name that alludes to the people, places and/or history behind the brand. This batch pays homage to Booker Noe’s signature phrase that he would use to compliment whatever had earned his approval.
“If you knew Booker, then you knew ‘mighty fine’ was his go-to phrase,” the company says in a press release. “Right before Booker passed away, [his son and successor] Fred Noe selected barrels for a Booker’s Batch for the very first time. After tasting it, Booker looked at him and said, ‘Mighty fine job, son’, making it a moment Fred will never forget.”
Like all batches of Booker’s Bourbon, Apprentice Batch was selected by Seventh Generation Master Distiller Fred Noe. Uncut and unfiltered, this batch is 126.6 proof. It aged 7 years, 1 month and 10 days.
The result is a rich color with an aroma of vanilla and sweet brown sugar, according to distillery notes.
Booker’s Bourbon Mighty Fine Batch has a suggested retail price of $89.99 for a 750-ml. bottle.
