The latest expression from Cascade Hollow Distilling Co., makers of George Dickel, is the brand’s 17 Year Old Reserve Tennessee whisky.
First released in 2016 as a 375-ml. limited-time offering, George Dickel 17 Year Old Reserve now returns to markets in a 750-ml. bottle.
Inspired by the inaugural release and its fans, General Manager and Distiller Nicole Austin intentionally searched for barrels that captured the components of that original liquid, the company says. The 17 Year Old is consistent with the George Dickel signature mash bill of 84% corn, 8% rye and 8% malted barley.
The result are aromas of crème brûlée and apricots, with hints of plum and juniper on the palate and a cedar finish, the company reports.
George Dickel 17 Year Old Reserve is 92 proof.
Starting this month, consumers can find George Dickel 17 Year Old Reserve in select markets across the U.S. for a suggested retail price of $250 per 750-ml. bottle.
“Knowing the impact of the first release of George Dickel 17 Year Old Reserve, the barrels selected for this latest edition were purposefully selected to pay homage to the original offering,” says Austin. “At the same time, in American Spirits of this age, you’re going to see variability. This year’s release offers fans another chance to taste the whisky they love, now even more complex.”
This comes after the 2022 release of George Dickel x Leopold Bros Blend.
