High West The Prisoner’s Share, a limited release created in collaboration with The Prisoner wines, has returned for 2023.
The Prisoner’s Share is a blend of straight bourbon and rye whiskeys finished in The Prisoner Red Blend wine barrels.
This expression first released in 2022. As of this past weekend, The Prisoner’s Share is officially back in limited quantities at the brand’s Utah distillery and Saloon locations, and will roll out to retailers nationwide beginning in November.
On the nose is dried raspberry, macerated cherries, cinnamon sticks, clove-spiced orange and brisket burnt ends, with a hint of white pepper and warm barrel sugar. The palate brings ripe cherries, dark shortbread, strawberry jam, chocolate, allspice, cinnamon and juniper, before a finish of gingerbread and orange spiced tea
The packaging includes a wax-dipped seal and bold label, nods to the collaboration with The Prisoner wines.
The suggested retail price is $174.99 per 750-ml. bottle.
